Sam Lawson, President/CEO

Sam Lawson is President/CEO of Hartland Equipment, the John Deere Dealership with locations in Bowling Green, Glasgow, Louisville and Somerset and Southern States Dealer in Louisville.  He graduated from Western Kentucky University with a B.S. in Agriculture and has been in the farm equipment business for thirty-six years.

He is a founding member of the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board (he is the representative for Kentucky's Chamber of Commerce on the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board), the Kentucky Agricultural Council (he is the representative for Kentucky's Chamber of Commerce), Governor's Council of Economic Advisors, Kentucky Agriculture Heritage Center Board, EQUIP Dealer Advisory Board, the WKU Gordon Ford College of Business Advisory Board, and John Deere's JDIS National Dealer Advisory Committee. He is the past president of the Kentucky Farm Equipment Dealers Association, the Kentucky FFA Foundation, the Kentucky FFA Alumni Association, Western Kentucky University's Agriculture Alumni Association, and the Alpha Gamma Rho Alumni Association. He is a member of the Louisville Agriculture Club and WKU Alumni Association. The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce recognized him as the 2003 Agri-Business Person of the Year in Warren County and the Jefferson County 4-H awarded him the 2011 4-H Roy Gibson Corporate Citizen Award.

Sam and his wife, Beverly, live in Bowling Green and are the proud parents of Jean-Marie Lawson, who is the Vice President of Marketing for Hartland Equipment.

  Greg Hardcastle, Vice President of Sales Administration and Salesman

Greg Hardcastle is Vice President of Sales Administration for Hartland Equipment.  He is also the Territory Manager for territory #1, which includes Southwestern Warren and Simpson Counties, along with Robertson and Western Sumner Counties in Tennessee. He is a graduate of Allen County High School. 
Beverly Lawson, Vice President of Human Resources

Beverly Lawson is Vice President of Human Resources for Hartland Equipment in Bowling Green, Glasgow, Louisville and Somerset. Among many responsibilities, her main duties include payroll and insurance. She works very closely with all of the employees. She is a graduate of Meade County High School and Western Kentucky University. Beverly is Past President of the Sigma Kappa Sorority Alumni Association. The WKU Spirit Master Organization recognized her as an Honorary Spirit Master in 1996. She is a member of Kentucky Women in Agriculture and the Louisville Agriculture Club.

She is the proud wife of Sam Lawson, President and CEO of Hartland Equipment, and proud mom of Jean-Marie Lawson, Vice President of Marketing for Hartland Equipment. Sam and Beverly have been married for 41 years. They are members of the First Baptist Church of Bowling Green.
Jean-Marie Lawson, Vice President of Marketing

Jean-Marie Lawson is Vice President of Marketing for Hartland Equipment in Bowling Green, Glasgow, Louisville and Somerset. She is co-host of the Jean-Marie and Joe Show, the radio program which brings you the most up-to-date news about agriculture especially as it affects Central Kentucky. It can be heard live every Monday from 8:30 - 9:00 am CT (9:30 - 10:00 am ET) on WKCT 930 am and here.

Jean-Marie graduated from Western Kentucky University with a B.A. in Corporate & Organizational Communication with emphasis in Marketing. She was a scholarship student-athlete on the Western Kentucky University Women’s Golf Team. She was named Western Kentucky University Homecoming Queen first runner-up and served as a WKU Spirit Master (official student ambassador), President of the International Association of Business Communicators, member of the Student Government Association and Phi Mu Sorority. A native of Glasgow, Jean-Marie graduated with honors from Glasgow High School and was a 2-time Kentucky All-State High School Golfer. She qualified and played in the USGA Junior Girls Golf Championship, won the Kentucky Maxfli PGA, which qualified her to play in the National Finals at PGA National, and competed in many AJGA and other national tournaments across the nation.

Jean-Marie was elected statewide to two terms as the State President of the Kentucky Young Democrats and also served as the Secretary for Kentucky Democratic Party State Central Executive Committee and National Young Democrats Assistant Secretary and Press Secretary. Prior to those roles, she served as the National Committeewoman representing Kentucky to the Young Democrats of America. At the 2003 Kentucky Young Democrats State Convention, she received the John F. Kennedy Outstanding Young Democrat Award. In 2004, Jean-Marie was elected as a National Delegate representing Kentucky at the Democratic National Convention in Boston. She was also selected by Leader Pelosi and Senator Clinton as 1 of 5 panelists for the Next Generation Democratic Summit in Washington, D.C.

Jean-Marie is a 2002 Leadership Bowling Green Graduate, 2005 Focus Louisville (hosted by Louisville Leadership Center) Graduate and 2011 Kentucky Agricultural Leadership Program Class IX Graduate. She serves on the Communication Committee for the Kentucky Agriculture Heritage Center and Public Awareness Committee for the Kentucky Agricultural Council. She is Executive Director of the Kentucky Farm Women Field Day. She is involved in many agriculture organizations across the Commonwealth including Kentucky Women in Agriculture and the Louisville Agriculture Club.  She was awared the 2011 Continued Excellence Award from the Kentucky Women in Agriculture.  She is a member of the Friends of the Louisville Zoo Board and member of the Western Kentucky University Alumni W-Club Board of Directors. The Club, which consists of former WKU Student-Athletes and Letter winners, is active in various projects which support the activities of the student-athletes and University mission.

Darrell Burton, Vice President of Sales and Somerset Store Manager

Darrell Burton is Vice President of Sales for Hartland Equipment & Somerset Store Manager. A native of Pulaski County, Darrell is a graduate Somerset Community College with an Associate's Degree. He was Kentucky FFA State Treasurer in 1971.

Darrell is married to Glenda Burton, Receptionist at Hartland Equipment's Somerset Store. They are the proud parents of three children and four grandchildren. 
Dave Upright, Vice President of Finance

Dave Upright is Vice President of Finance for Hartland Equipment in Bowling Green, Glasgow, Louisville and Somerset. He graduated from Western Carolina University with a B.S. in Business Administration. He has 10 years retail operations experience and 16 years in the military as an engineer/heavy equipment operator.

Dave is married to Paula Upright, who is the Athletic Trainer for the WKU Lady Topper Basketball Team. They are the proud parents of two sons, Lance and Zachary.
